Continuous Consulting

The Lynkeus Continuous Consulting service is a form of medium-term strategic consultancy aimed at the identification, analysis, evaluation and planning of innovative strategic solutions: • Identification and development of new strategic business areas • Introduction of new technologies • Reinvention of organisational and functional structure • Creation of international networks • Identification and development of scientific research programmes Characteristic of the service A continuous consulting programme generally involves devising, planning and supervising the implementation of various often interrelated initiatives. It involves the full-time employment of a set number of resources specialising in the various sectors covered in turn by the analysis. If necessary, these resources can also be external. It presupposes a relationship of continuous collaboration with the client organisation, which will be actively involved in the following phases in particular: • The definition of objectives • The subsequent testing and fine tuning of solutions with a view to their gradual integration and modification Client involvement will in any case be managed so as to restrict any interference with the normal course of everyday activities to the bare minimum. While the activities carried out will vary in relation to the objectives concerned, the fundamental elements of this type of consulting [...]

Dissemination

Lynkeus’ accrued experience in European Research Projects has led fine tune specific dissemination techniques, particularly suited to highlight the scientific and technological outcomes ensuring that communication activities and materials are accessible and understandable by both experts in the relevant fields and by laypeople, and allowing to reach extensive patient group involvement. Lynkeus’ dissemination method Lynkeus’ dissemination activities in European projects typically aim to foster productive exchange among a large and varied group of stakeholders, following an approach where dissemination is conceived of as an exercise in “knowledge sharing” . Efforts are bi-directional, inasmuch as while the project disseminates its results, it likewise simultaneously attempts to recruit external organisations and actors to share their expertise. The main goal of this “active dissemination” approach is to get a growing number of stakeholders and users involved in learning about the project and its outcomes and in further spreading the news. Knowledge sharing has also proved to be particularly effective within each project’s Consortium. In fact, with a large group of professionals coming from many different research domains the first objective of the knowledge sharing exercise is convergence: building consensus is an integral component of knowledge sharing. To achieve this goal, Lynkeus’ methodology consists [...]

Project Management

Lynkeus offers project management services to institutions or organisations that are seeking EC funding for innovative research projects. Lynkeus’ accrued experience in the FP6 and the FP7 European projects has shown, quite in advance of the established practices of project management in this field, the added value from an approach which operates with a separation of functions between global Coordination, for which the leading industrial or clinical partner is responsible, and a professional Project Management, closely integrated into the decision making structure of a Consortium and strongly supporting its coordination – but not infringing on the Coordinator’s legal responsibilities to the European Commission. This approach is believed to be especially beneficial if the Project Management system is closely entwined with an initial “vision management” as a central tenant, because this way the Project Manager can better strategically support the Coordinator and can also most usefully lead the dissemination work within the project.

Scenario Analysis Session

This activity is based on preliminary analysis designed to lead to moments of intense strategic discussion involving a certain number of decision-makers of the client organisation. Divided into ad hoc groups, the latter will be called upon to take part in guided sessions of collective high-level brain storming suitably structured so as to bring out the major possible future strategic scenarios in which management will be required to take decisions. During these sessions, which are designed to foster the free exchange and formulation of views and to develop group knowledge, each team is prompted in a climate of constant challenge to develop alternative views as regards the future of its business. Each team thus identifies a series of possible crucial endstates through the reactions it is prompted to express with respect to the presentation of a broad range of information on possible future events developed in advance by Lynkeus via analysis and structured interviews with leading figures and experts in the sector. Our service The Lynkeus Scenarios Package includes a seminar lasting one or more days preceded by the identification of a certain number of endstates and a broad series of interviews with the participants and with leading figures and [...]
